How selling works

Listing a token on Bristlecone Vault takes about 5 minutes the first time — and under a minute every time after that. Here's the whole flow.

  1. 1

    Pick a public handle

The first time you list or make an offer, we'll ask you to choose a public @handle (3–20 letters, numbers, or underscores). It's how other collectors see you on listings, offers, and trades.

Handles are permanent — pick one you're happy with.

  2. 2

    List a token for sale

On your Portfolio, find the token you want to sell and click List for sale. Set a USD price ($20.00 minimum) and optionally a note for buyers.

Your listing appears immediately on the marketplace homepage and on your issuer's page. Only one active listing per token at a time — you can cancel anytime before it sells.

  3. 3

    Connect payouts (Stripe)

Before a buyer can complete checkout on your listing, you need a Stripe Connect account so we can send proceeds to your bank. You do this once — after that, every future sale pays out automatically.

Stripe asks for your legal name, date of birth, address, last 4 of SSN, and a bank account or debit card. Takes about 3 minutes. You can leave and come back anytime; Stripe saves your progress.

Bristlecone Vault never sees or stores your bank details — Stripe handles all of it.

  4. 4

    Get paid when it sells

When a buyer checks out, Stripe charges them, takes the platform fee and issuer royalty, and deposits the rest into your bank account (usually within 2 business days). The token transfers to the buyer automatically — no action needed from you.

You'll see the sale in your Portfolio and receive an email confirmation.

  5. 5

    (Optional) Redeem the physical item

At any point while you own a token, you can request the physical item ship to you. This burns the token (it can no longer be traded), and the custody partner ships from their vault. You'll receive a Certificate of Custody & Chain of Ownership PDF as a permanent record.

You can only redeem tokens you currently own. Sold a token? The new owner is the only one who can redeem.
